Soot/SO2/NOx

A. Zero NOx Emissions

  • The Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is only technology currently available to fulfil the most strict Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) requirements.
  • NOx care is based on SCR technology and is applicable to all vessel types, both new builds and retrofits, reducing NOx emission by up to 99%.
  • NOx care SCR together with injected “NOx care 40”, a high purity urea water solution to reduce NOx.
  • The system is installing between the engine and the exhaust outlet.
  • The exhaust gas passes through the catalyst where the NOx is converted into harmless nitrogen and water.
  • The NOx care 40 urea solution is sprayed into the exhaust gas upstream the catalyst and vaporises inside the injection pipe, where it is converted to ammonia.
  • The ammonia mixes with exhaust gas and reacts with NOx molecules on the catalyst surface to form harmless nitrogen gas (N2) and water (H2O).

B. Zero SOx Emission

  • There are only 3 options to meet the IMO regulation on Sulphur Emissions,
    1. Switching to more expensive compliant distillate fuel (e.g. MGO).
    2. Convert to new fuel types (e.g. LNG) at considerable risk and cost.
    3. Continue operating on cheap and readily available heavy fuel oil and install an EGCS to remove the sulphur from the exhaust gas.
  • The installation of an exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS) is the most cost effective solution to meet IMO sulphur regulation.
  • Integrating all the exhaust producing machinery on-board (Main engine, Aux engine and Boilers) into one single scrubbing unit without any back pressure to the engine.
  • Cleaned Exhaust : Tamper-free gas analyzer is continuously monitoring the SO2/CO2 ratio and compliance is logged together with GPS position of the vessel.
  • Trapping SOx and Particles : The wet “Advanced Vortex Chamber” is combined with two powerful fans to achieve outstanding trapping efficiency for Sulphur (SOx) as well as soot and ash particles.
  • Allstream : Main engines, Aux engines and boilers are all served by one single scrubbing unit without any back-pressure. This is achieved by two fans and a unique gas recirculation device.

C. Emission Monitoring (Stack Gas Monitoring):

  • The G4500 Continuous Emission Monitoring System is a robust and cost-effective system for marine operation.
  • The analyzer can measure different gases (e.g. NOx, SOx, CO2, H2O and CH4).
  • The G7000 SOx / CO2 analyzing System is a practical system that consists of a direct in-situ sampling probe and gas analyzing modules that are used to monitor SOx and CO2.
  • The system can be delivered especially for SOx scrubbers with wet gasses that are to comply with MEPC-184(59).

D. NOx Monitor:

  • The G4100 NOx / O2 Analyzing System provides real time measurements of NOx in ppm and O2 in % on wet basis at high temperatures.
  • It is also designed to meet the challenging requirements for monitoring the inlet and outlet of selective catalytic reduction systems (SCR) on all types of combustion sources.
