Denmark maker — Pres-Vac has been offering this useful tool to customers worldwide. This is a useful tool to test Pressure / Vacuum valves as to setting on both pressure and vacuum side.
This plug-and-play tool is recommended to be installed in the room below deck such as Engine Room Work Shop or smilar. It has to be bolted onto the deck before use. There are 1 types of test rig : Test Rig Ship and Test Rig TR.
Design
Test rig is made from mild steel tubing and plates that is coated to avoid corrosion. It is made to connect P/V valves up to DN 150. However, adaptor flange can be used to test larger valves. Additional Air Pressure can be added to test leakage rate. P/V valves that can be tested with this test rig are:
* HS-ISO + ISO-VAC * HS-ISO-VAC * HS-IMO2 * HSM-IMO2 * HSE-IMO2 * HS+VAC *
Maintenance
Test Rig doesnt require any special maintenance. However, it is recommended to always keep it at correct reading during testing:
-
Keep all threads on handles well lubricated
-
Ensure plastic hose without any damages and leaks.
-
Drain off water if the compressed air is not completely dry.
-
Keep pressure gauge in good condition, replace with new battery if low battery is shown in display.
-
Ensure relief valve is working good.
-
Replace rubber gasket if it worn to ensure proper sealing during testing.
Testing Opening Pressure for Pressur Unit
-
Turn switch in upper position — PRESSURE
-
Adjust valve to correct opening pressure as instructed in Instruction Manual for Pres-Vac P/V Valves
-
Check for leakages by pouring soap water on all parts of the valves. If bubbles appear, it indicates leakage on the valve.
-
p/s some small bubbles appearing around the valve is a norm.
-
Once testing is completed, turn the switch to middle position — OFF
Testing of Opening Pressure for Vacuum Unit
-
Depressurize the valve by lifting the Check Lift Handle on the P/V valve.
-
Turn switch to lower position — VACUUM
-
Adjust valve to correct opening pressure as instructed in Instruction Manual for Pres-Vac P/V valve.
-
Once testing is completed, turn the switch to middle position — OFF
