GIANTECH has emerged as a finalist in the Smart Port Challenge 2019 organised by PIER71.
PIER71, which stands for Port Innovation Ecosystem Reimagined @ BLOCK71, is a collaboration between the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and NUS Enterprise, the entrepreneurial arm of the National University of Singapore (NUS). PIER71 aims to catalyse the digital transformation within the maritime industry.
GIANTECH’s MD, Mr Dilong Goh, says: “We view digitalisation as necessary to our long-term viability. We pride ourselves on being forward-thinking, providing our customers with innovative solutions to enhance the life cycle of their equipment.”
The Smart Port Challenge is an annual call for tech start-ups with innovative ideas to step forward and address key problem statements provided by maritime corporates.
GIANTECH participated in the Smart Port Challenge 2019 as Gotrix, a start-up co-founded with 2359 Media. Gotrix was shortlisted for PIER71 Accelerare, an intensive customer discovery and market validation programme.
Gotrix enhances performance support to ship crew by leveraging context recognition, natural language programming, machine learning and optimisation to streamline the vast array of information needed to operate, maintain and repair vessel equipment – thereby, reducing vessel downtime.
GoTrix aims to hit the market from end-May 2020.
